Parents will have the opportunity to find out exactly what The University of Queensland has to offer at an information evening to be held on Wednesday, June 25.

The session, which runs from 5pm-7.30pm at the St Lucia campus, will cover the application process, study options, scholarships, student services and campus life.

Representatives from admissions, scholarships, UQ faculties, residential colleges and the Ipswich and Gatton campuses will also be on-hand to answer any queries.

Student Recruitment Manager, Jessica Gallagher, said Wednesday’s event would allow parents to differentiate between UQ and other institutions whilst getting a feel for the UQ experience.

“This is the first time we’ve run this event and it’s responding to the fact that students have a lot of choice and a lot of tertiary options,” Ms Gallagher said.

“This session provides the perfect opportunity for prospective students and their families to clarify any queries they may have, for parents to understand the application process and get to know members of the UQ staff and student community.”

The University offers 168 Bachelor degree programs, including 98 dual-degree options.

Students can study across a range of disciplines including arts, law, business and science.

UQ is one of Australia’s top four research-intensive universities and is a founding member of the national Group of Eight, an alliance of research-strong "sandstone" universities committed to ensuring that Australia has world-class higher education institutions.

It also belongs to the global Universitas 21 alliance, which aims to enhance the quality of university outcomes through international benchmarking.

Prospective Students and their parents are welcome to attend the UQ Information Evening on Wednesday, June 25 at 5pm. The session will be held in the UQ Centre at the St Lucia Campus. For more information, or to RSVP, please call 07 3346 9649 or visit www.uq.edu.au/parent-evening.
