Vice-Chancellor of the University of Queensland Professor John Hay said today a review of activities within the faculty of Natural Resources, Agriculture and Veterinary Science (NRAVS) was an internal matter.

Professor Hay said a draft concept plan for NRAVS, which is based at Gatton, St Lucia and other sites is "being discussed as one would expect it to be discussed".

He said the process was seeking the best organisational outcomes for the faculty within available resources.

"The draft is simply an internal faculty organisational paper being circulated by the faculty for comment and consultation purposes," Professor Hay said.

He said attempts to blow the issue out of proportion were not helpful to the process of achieving a workable outcome for NRAVS.

He said Federal cuts to university funding obliged faculties to review their activities from time to time. Any issues would be decided after adequate consideration and consultation.

Professor Hay said constructive comment on the faculty proposal was welcome and could be forwarded to the Office of Research and Postgraduate Studies, University of Queensland, St Lucia, 4072.
