The University of Queensland Ipswich Campus will showcase new courses and cutting edge facilities available to prospective students, their families and friends at its first Open Day being held on Sunday, August 15.
The Open Day program will include course lectures and displays. Visitors will also be able to experience first hand some of the high-tech facilities available at the campus. Many community activities are also planned which promise to make it a great day.
Ipswich Campus Manager, Warren Kerswill, said the Open Day was a great opportunity for people to come out and see for themselves the tremendous facilities on offer at UQ Ipswich.
"UQ Ipswich boast some of the most modern computer and learning equipment of any University in the country.
"We also have staff and student ratios that allow our students enjoy close contact with their lecturers."
As part of the Open Day the University plans to mount a display of photographs from Ipswich's past.
In addition, members of the public are invited to come to the Open Day and share their historic stories. The University will record the stories to make them part of the heritage of the city.
The UQ Ipswich Open Day is being held on Sunday, August 15 from 10am to 2pm.
